KYC, AML and CFT Policy

This KYC, AML and CFT Policy explains how the operator works to prevent its services from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing or other unlawful activity. It should be read with the Terms, Privacy Policy and Responsible Gambling guidance.

The operator applies risk-based controls to account activity, payments and customer information. These controls can involve identity checks, source-of-funds questions, transaction review and cooperation with competent authorities. The Roobet platform may conduct a review when an account is opened, during an ongoing relationship or before a withdrawal or reward is processed.

What do AML and CFT mean?

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) refers to measures designed to prevent criminal proceeds from being introduced into legitimate financial activity or disguised as lawful funds. Money laundering is commonly described through three connected stages:

  • Placement: funds connected to unlawful activity enter the financial system.
  • Layering: funds move through transactions or accounts in a way that makes their origin harder to trace.
  • Integration: funds return to the economy appearing to come from a legitimate source.

Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT) covers measures intended to prevent funds from being collected, transferred or used with the purpose or knowledge that they will support terrorist activity.

How the control framework works

The control framework uses several connected layers rather than relying on a single check:

  • internal AML, KYC and risk-management procedures;
  • customer identification and due diligence;
  • sanctions and politically exposed person screening;
  • transaction and activity monitoring;
  • governance, staff training and independent review where appropriate;
  • record keeping, escalation and reporting.

Why checks may be requested

A request for information does not by itself mean that misconduct has occurred. Reviews help the operator understand account risk, confirm who controls the account and ensure that funds and activity are consistent with the information available.

Know Your Customer checks

KYC is the process used to establish and maintain confidence in a customer’s identity and account information. Depending on the risk profile and activity, the operator may request or verify:

  • full name and date of birth;
  • residential address and other contact details;
  • identity documents or other reliable evidence of identity;
  • information about the origin of deposited or withdrawn funds;
  • additional information needed to resolve an account or transaction review.

Due diligence can be repeated or enhanced when circumstances change, when activity reaches a review threshold or when the available information is incomplete. Customers should provide accurate, current and readable information through the requested secure channel.

PEP and sanctions screening

As part of risk assessment, accounts may be screened against politically exposed person information and applicable sanctions or restriction lists. A potential match may require further information and manual review. A screening result is not automatically a finding of wrongdoing, but the account may remain restricted until the review is completed.

Source of funds and source of wealth

Where appropriate, the operator may ask how funds were obtained or how a customer’s overall wealth was generated. The documents requested depend on the circumstances and can include evidence connected with employment, business activity, investments, asset sales or another lawful source.

Submitting a document does not guarantee that it will be accepted. The information must be sufficient, consistent and capable of being verified. Do not send passwords, private keys or unrelated sensitive credentials.

Transaction and activity monitoring

Account activity and transactions may be analysed with internal controls and external monitoring tools. The review can consider deposits, withdrawals, gameplay patterns, payment behaviour, changes in account use and links between accounts. The purpose is to identify unusual patterns, assess risk and improve the effectiveness of the control framework.

  • Transactions may be delayed while a review is completed.
  • Additional evidence may be requested before a payment, reward or withdrawal is processed.
  • Unusual or suspicious activity can be escalated for investigation.
  • Accounts may be restricted where the Terms or applicable law require it.

Governance and employee training

An appointed Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) coordinates the AML programme, supports internal investigations, monitors regulatory developments and works with relevant stakeholders on control improvements. Employees receive AML awareness and compliance training appropriate to their responsibilities, with refresher training provided as part of the control programme.

Reporting and cooperation

Potentially unusual or suspicious activity may be escalated and reported to the competent authority where required. The operator may cooperate with regulators, law-enforcement bodies and other authorised institutions conducting legitimate investigations. Privacy and disclosure decisions are handled according to applicable law and the site’s Privacy Policy.

Customer responsibilities

  • Use only your own account and do not allow another person to control it.
  • Provide truthful information and update it when it changes.
  • Use payment methods and wallets that you are authorised to use.
  • Respond to reasonable verification requests within the requested period.
  • Do not attempt to bypass limits, restrictions, screening or transaction controls.
  • Do not use the platform to disguise, transfer or process funds connected with unlawful activity.

If your account is under review

Follow the instructions shown in your account or provided by support. Send only the requested documents through the approved channel and ensure that scans or photographs are complete and legible. Avoid opening another account while a review is pending, as this may complicate the investigation and breach the Terms.

For account questions, contact Live Support. Do not publish identity documents or financial information in public chat rooms or send them to unverified contacts.

Policy note

This page is a plain-language rewrite of the KYC, AML and CFT framework. It does not limit the operator’s ability to request information, apply account controls, suspend activity or report matters where required by law or the Terms.
