Sportsbook Markets and Betting Odds
A sports wager is a selection on a defined event at an accepted price. The sport, market wording and settlement period all matter. Backing a team to win in regulation is not necessarily the same contract as backing it to qualify or win after overtime.
The sportsbook on Roobet Australia groups traditional sports and esports by event. Compare the offered markets, then inspect the betslip for the selection, price and stake that will be submitted.
Find the Sport and the Settlement Period
| Sport | Markets to look for | Rule detail to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Football | Match result, totals, both teams to score and handicaps | Whether the selection covers regular time or qualification |
| Basketball | Winner, point totals and spreads | Whether overtime is included |
| Tennis | Match winner, sets and game totals | Retirement, walkover and match-format rules |
| Baseball | Moneyline, run line and totals | Pitcher conditions, innings requirements and extra innings |
| Volleyball | Match winner, set markets and point handicaps | Whether the market refers to a match or an individual set |
| Ice hockey | Three-way result, winner and puck line | Treatment of overtime and shootouts |
Event availability follows the current schedule and account access. A league name in the navigation does not establish that every match has the same markets or rules.
Understand the Market Before the Price
| Market | What you predict | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Three-way result | Home win, draw or away win | A draw is a separate losing outcome for either team selection |
| Two-way moneyline | One of two listed winners | Tie handling and overtime depend on the sport and rules |
| Total | Whether a statistic finishes above or below a line | A whole-number line may allow a push |
| Handicap or spread | The result after applying the stated adjustment | Positive and negative lines change the required result |
| Outright | A tournament, season or longer-term outcome | Participation and withdrawal rules can affect settlement |
| In-play market | An offered outcome after the event starts | Price changes and acceptance delays can apply |
Moneyline is not a universal synonym for 1X2. A two-way winner market omits a separately priced draw, while 1X2 explicitly includes one. Read the event-specific terms rather than carrying assumptions from another sport.
Read Decimal and Profit Odds Correctly
Decimal odds express the total return per unit staked, including the original unit. A $10 wager accepted at 2.50 returns $25 if successful, producing $15 profit. If the selection loses, its $10 stake is lost.
Changing the display format changes the quotation, not the underlying selection. For any unfamiliar format, inspect the betslip’s projected return and distinguish that figure from profit.
Price Is Not a Guarantee
Decimal odds of 2.00 correspond to a raw implied probability of 50% before considering the bookmaker’s margin. That is a conversion of a price, not a verified forecast of the event.
| Odds format | Illustrative quotation | Reading the quotation |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.50 | Total return of 2.50 units per successful unit staked |
| Fractional | 3/2 | Profit of 3 units for every 2 units staked |
| American | +150 | Profit of 150 units on a successful 100-unit wager |
| American | -200 | A stake of 200 units is needed for 100 units of profit |
| Hong Kong | 1.50 | Profit of 1.50 units per successful unit staked |
Use the formats actually offered in the account interface. A shorter price commonly indicates a more strongly favoured outcome, but it does not make that selection certain.
Check Handicaps with a Worked Example
A team backed at minus 1.5 must finish more than 1.5 scoring units ahead for that selection to win. A team backed at plus 1.5 can win the selection by winning outright or losing by one unit, assuming the market uses the stated final-score period.
Whole-number and quarter lines require closer attention. A whole-number line may refund a stake when the adjusted result is exactly level. Quarter handicaps can divide the wager across two lines, creating half-win or half-loss settlements. Read those rules before treating every handicap as all-or-nothing.
Esports Markets Depend on the Series
| Title | Possible market scope | What to identify |
|---|---|---|
| Counter-Strike 2 | Series winner, map winner and round totals | Map format and overtime treatment |
| League of Legends | Match result, maps and named objectives | The particular game and objective being counted |
| Dota 2 | Series result, maps and match statistics | Series length and the listed statistic |
| Valorant | Match winner, map handicap and round markets | Map selection, round scope and overtime rules |
A best-of-three series does not automatically make every selection a series wager. Check whether the bet names the match, a map or a smaller event. Roster changes, forfeits and postponed fixtures can also trigger specific settlement provisions.
Allow for Delays During Live Betting
Broadcasts and trackers can lag behind the event. A score visible on your screen may therefore be older than the information used to suspend a market or update its price. A live stream should not be treated as a timing advantage.
Submitting a betslip is not the same as receiving acceptance. Wait for the confirmation and inspect the accepted price. If the offered price changes before acceptance, the interface may require another decision under the account’s price-change settings.
Keep Singles and Accumulators Distinct
A single concerns one selection. An accumulator combines several legs, usually requiring every leg to satisfy its winning conditions. Combining short-priced selections does not make the combined wager safe; one losing leg can defeat the entire ticket.
Void legs, correlated selections and same-event combinations may be handled differently. Use the return quoted on the final slip and check the relevant combination rules instead of multiplying displayed prices without qualification.
Review the Betslip Before Submission
- Confirm the event name and scheduled fixture.
- Read the full market wording and selected outcome.
- Check the line, map, period or overtime condition.
- Enter the amount you intend to commit.
- Inspect the quoted price and projected total return.
- Submit only after reviewing any price-change option.
- Keep the confirmation and ticket reference once accepted.
The Login page explains account entry. For a ticket question, provide its reference through Live Support rather than relying only on a screenshot of a changing market.
Track Exposure Rather Than Chasing a Result
Several tickets on the same team or event can create overlapping exposure. Count their combined stakes when setting a session amount. Research can help explain injuries, scheduling or team form, but it cannot remove uncertainty from a future result.
A previous losing ticket is not a reason to raise the next stake. Decide a budget and stopping point independently of an anticipated recovery. The bet history is useful for reviewing accepted selections and settlements, not for assuming that a winning run is due.
Read Offer Conditions Before Using a Reward
Sports campaigns can impose minimum prices, eligible market lists, expiry dates and settlement requirements. An accumulator, a live selection or a void leg may receive different treatment from a standard single.
Check the current promotion terms for those conditions. Supported funding assets and transfer details belong to the cashier, while sporting outcomes are settled from the event and market rules rather than a casino seed-verification system.
